Glass-Reinforced Plastic

Glass reinforced polyester (GRP) is made from a polyester resin which is reinforced with chopped strand matt glass fibres to form a laminate.

GRP was discovered in the 1940s as an alternative to felt and was found to be corrosion proof, high in strength and laid with a very low profile appearance. The main positive is its high durability and relatively low cost which make it a perfect roof covering.

Constructed from a single ply laminate applied in situ over an 18mm OSB3 deck, the roof is finished with edge trims and a coat of gel top coat. All GRP roofs come with a standard 20 year guarantee. It is not only used in roofing but also for water proofing boats, water tanks, processing vessels, roof lights and much more.

This type of roofing will only work to such a high standard if it is applied properly to the manufacturer's specification. At Coast to Coast all of our team are fully trained and insured to ensure your peace of mind with every installation.
